Three games played and had an absolute blast. Thanks to everyone for great competitive play and a saweeet after Thanksgiving Day! And we even had a cheering section. Thanks to Melissa, SH, Christina and Debra for watching and hoping your fav will win. More heckling next time.

Don't remember which team won the best out of three, don't matter. (Really I do, Mine!). Justinrunns and his fixed gear bike stood out today. His skill level has quadrupled in a very short time. Glad he is a part of our family.

I rode one handed and shot some foto's today too. Daylight play is rare, it is good.

Thanksgiving Week and Bike Polo

Wednesday is our regular grass polo game. We are adding a special day after Thanksgiving game Friday as well. Come join us for some daylight polo fun. 10 Am at Desert Storm Park 16th Street and Colter. Park behind the Motel, and come to the pit.

Sunday Court..Nov 22 2009

Seven players today. Mailman Jay, Justinrunns, Piranha#1, & #2, Dustin, Me and a surprise visit from Marco. We are trying to talk him into staying in PHX, and not going back to NYC. But he bought a round trip ticket.

We played a lot of games. All good. This is a great location. I only wish more players could come and enjoy this too.

Wed. Nov. 18th and Grass Polo " FUN "

It's Alive!! Our roots are deep in grass. And feels good and right at home. Mailman Jay is quoted: " I wish we could have our own tournement here so others could see just how much fun this is."

I had three 11 year old Grandsons here tonight. How cool is that? A deep talent pool for sure and recon Phx Bike Polo will last long after I'm out.

Three games played, and it was a bit chilly. Long handles and gloves for sure. This is the kind of weather we expected in Como Missouri. But did not happen.

The AZHC Polo Invite, is posted and will happen Feb. 20/21st. The location is not locked down yet, but soon.

Midwest Champeenship 2009

Long trip for me. But the polo in Columbia Mo. was awesome. 44 teams from all over the midwest, over 175 games played. The team "What Just Happened", Jason, MiniMike and Troy finished 5th overall. Very proud of our Phx boys.

The team "Phx Who" Me, Mike and Justin finished mid pack. There was some stiff competition, and every time we do a tourney, we learn a ton.

Our only complaint : If your going to have officiating, then OFFICIATE ! Some play was over the safety line. I watched 12 hours of polo on Sat. and 8 hours on Sun. I did not hear one official call regarding safety issues or one warning. In one play, a rider, at full speed, crashed into the goalie, shoving him back into the goal, hurting everyone involved, allowing his team to score. No call!!

But the folks from Columbia were special. They took on the task to try to make every one happy. We look forward to our next tournament.

Wednesday, Oct. 21 2009 Grass Polo Fun

Nine players tonight. Dus, Chad and SteveAZ, showed up to endure 40min games to 10. The regular PBP folks, Mailman Jay, Piranha#1(Jacob) Mooky(Adam), Big Mike T. MiniMike and Me, thrashed around till 11pm or so, and finished 3 games. Nice weather, 60 deg or so in the pit. If MiniMike is generous and passes often, we can win. If he is not, he can score at will. Amazing bike and ball handling skills. We often look at each other and say "What Just Happened". We've been at this for 13 years and never boring.

Great night of grass bike polo again. Only one taco wheel (sorry Steve), no injuries, No interruptions from the Dog Folks, or hookers. It was good.

See you Sunday at 1pm, at Baseline and Hardy. HARDCOURT !
