Wed. Dec.3rd 2008 Only 2 Wild Games Played

I've said it before. It does not matter how we devide teams, good things happen, and it is equal. 10 players showed. We only played two games .And each game went to 15. Thats like playing 3 games to 10 pts each. Marathon vollies. Amazing defense, blocked shots, weird scoring. I think everyone contributed to goals. Big Tim was on. His ball control and passing was extra good. Of course Jay the Mailman, made some of the most incredible plays of the evening. Oh did I mention he is my SON ?
Each team won a game apiece. Very exciting stuff. Jay's front wheel is supposed to have 32 spokes. 9 are missing. Think its time for some repair. Again, a testament to bike parts and there ability to take maximum abuse.

Missed you Tracy !

Team#1: Jay, Piranha#1, Jim, Tommy, and Me
Team#2: Big Tim, Mike, Troy, Piranha#2, and Mooky
Pics: Mooky's first day with clipless. Did good. Only fell 6 times.
Jim in yellow. Said somthing about needing beer.
The main body of Miss-Fits: L-to-R; Mike, Jay, Troy, Tommy, Jim
Till next time, Get out and ride

Saturday, Nov. 15th. Tucson Bike Swap Meet and Polo

The Tucson bike swap meet is always a blast. Troy, Mike, Tommy, Jay, Jacob, Big Tim and me, jumped in a couple vehichles and drove to the 'Ol Pueblo. This is the place for bike deals. Tires, derailures, brakes, shifters, frames, stuff to keep us going till next time.
Tucson's son-of-polo, Jeremy, tried to get a team together, to play after the swap meet, but no good. His players bailed at the last, and left him alone to play against Phoenix's finest. Thanks Jeremy for standing up and showing us a good time. With us and Jeremy there were 8 players. Tucson rules. 3 hits then pass.

Good stuff. Maybe next time.

Wednesday, Nov. 12th I'm Back

Sorry, missed a couple games. Busy and all. But we're still here and playin every Wed. evening. Last week was no exception. Great gamin. 12 cyclists showed up.
Amazing. Even Matt, who we havent seen for a few months. Great to have him back. 3 games played. I think we finished around 1030 or so. I know Mom's are concerned about us keeping the youngest players out so long.( tired for school the next day). The boys think it's worth it.
Hard games and evenly matched again. MiniMike(Michael Boyd). What can I say. There are not words to describe his cycling skills. The moves he makes on a bike are not possible. Scoring at will, passing, long bombs, dribbling, and most of all his sprint. Sheeeit! Can I have him on my team next time..............Please!

I'll try and get the teams right.
Team#1: Jay, Mooky, Piranha#1, MiniMike, Tommy, and Me
Team#2: MT, Troy, Tracy, Matt, Piranha#2, and Big Tim.

P.S: Tracy wasn't feeling well and wasn't sure if she would play, but came anyway. She got saddled up and said she would just ride around and take it easy. RIGHT! After a blistering pace, I wish she would have.

Wednesdays folks. It's a happining ! We even have a cheering section. If you don't want to play, show up anyway. Just bring hot coffee or mocha. It's getting chilly.

Pics.: At the park, Big Tim, and we heard the Tucson boys are playing elephant polo now.

Wednesday, Oct.22nd I Was Right !

Wednesdays are alive and well for bike polo. 11 crazy MoFo's showed up and 3 hard games were played. As usual, no matter how we split teams it's pretty even. Tommy and Tracy brought new friends, and I think we have at least one convert. The Piranha, #1 and #2, played on the same team and together. If you think you are safe with an easy breakaway, think again. I've seen them both run someone down and make an unbelievable play. Come see for yourself.

Wednesday night polo is outstanding fun. With a lighted wiffle ball, a few mallots, bikes, and some good friends, we may be playin for another 10 years.

Team#1: Jay, Crazy Ivan, Mooky, Jim, Lil' Anthony and Me.

Team#2: MiniMike, Tommy, Tracy, Piranha#1 and #2

Photo's at the polo park and a Sunday ride. Me (Grandpa Jeff) Piranha#1 and #2.

Thanks Mike for bringing the gear, even though Uncle Insite made you work tonight.

Thanks Jim for buying the brew after.

Sunday, Oct. 19th Sharing the Field

The Cricket players were there first. So we adapt, overcome, and play-on. After a very nice conversation with our friends, they were more than willing to share the field. Playing the width is a totally different game. To score, you are on the hill in first gear. We have done this before. You old Veterans know exactly what I mean. But fun non-the-same.

Because of other commitments and obligations, Sunday play is postponed till more interest in daytime play is there. Wednesday's though are a different story. Plenty of hard core Bike Polo to be played.

6 players Sunday:

Team #1: Jay, Piranha #1 and Me

Team #2: MT, Piranha #2 and Mooky.

Thanks Mike for draggin the gear bag around. And the use of Mike's Automotive Shop.

See ya Wed. the 22nd.

Wed. Oct. 1st. Not Enough To Play

Bad news: We are sad, no polo. Guess I'll drink beer instead.
Good news: Some are healthy, some have good bikes, transportation, gas money, and all looking forward to the next game.
It's all good !
We'll see ya Sunday at 6pm
Wednesday eve, Oct.1, Crazy Ivan's(aka: Anthony Maldonado) mother, Cecilia, passed away. A very sweet lady, will be missed by friends and family. I know all of us will think of them in our prayers.

Wednesday, Sept.24th Making Up Rules As We Go !

Three good games again. Mailman Jay had bike trouble. At sprint, his chain would jump off and put him in a very bad position. Like on his butt, or straddling the top tube. So after game 2, I let him use my 46'r, which was too small for a 5'11" gear masher. I needed the break. He needed to play.

Games started late, around 8:30pm. So after every game, (Troy quote)" lets turn and burn". No break, water only. Still it lasted past 10:30pm.
New Rule: After the opposing team scores, you have to wait till the other team is at least half way back across the field before you can move forward to score. Troy...Thanks for your input and patients.

MT has strep. Wish him well.

Team#1; Troy, Jim, Piranha#2, Mooky, Tracy.

Team#2; Jay, MiniMike, Piranha#1, Lil'Anthony an Me.

Sunday, Sept. 28th is cancelled.

See ya'll Wed. the 1st at 7pm sharp. Piranha#1 and Mooky will be a tad late.
